Reese Goose Box

I recently ordered a 2016 Dodge dually with the fifth wheel prep kit in it. My old Dodge had a short bed with a Pullrite 25K slider. New truck long bed, but Pullrite does not make an adaptor to use with new truck. My toyhauler is a 2015 Voltage 3990. So now started thinking about options. Love the tri-glide 21K pin box on camper, but heard the stories of some failures. Use my truck for work and most of my trailers are gooseneck. Will not use an adapter seen and heard the horror stories. Reese Goose Box 20K will not void Lipperts frame warranty, but would like to have a minimum of a 25K pin box if ordering a new one. Any thought would be appreciated, or should I just purchase a new fifth wheel hitch and wait for Reese to come out with a 25K goose. The Voltage 3990 is suppose to be at a mod weight of 20K and we all know we never dream of going over that weight rating.

My new 2015 Ford F350 came with the factory prep. I hate it! My 2012 Ford had a B&W hitch that was great and much easier to deal with. Just sayn"....

Looked up the Ranch Adaptor, they will not allow them to be attached to a cushioned pin box. Thanks for the suggestion DesertRat. Everyone I have talked to tells me the adaptor will crack the frame on my camper due to the turning moment, which makes sense the front of the frame is pretty mild compared to any true gooseneck, but you would think a cushioned pin box would help.

When mine cracked the fiberglass below the bedroom slide I removed it. Glad I went to a long bed truck before getting the voltage. Sorry bed truck with bed fuel tank was why I tried the adapter

Tom, what don't you like about the factory prep Reese hitch? I have the same and it's been bullet proof.

I have the B&W ball in the bed, I have the Anderson Ultimate and really like it. Goes in and comes out quickly no problems would highly recommend it if you need to use your bed space between camping trips.

Thanks dbear, this hitch looks like the one for me. Should be awhile before I can not pick up 32lbs.

No problemo. I'm heavily leaning toward one myself when the time comes.
