Rear screen magnets

Is anyone else having trouble with the magnets not being strong enough to hold down the roll up screen? And has anyone came up with an easy fix? Thanks

Loosen the screws that hold the magnets in place a little at a time. This will allow them to move out some for a better bite. Worked for me.. lets us know the results.

Tried that thanks, might c if I can find some stronger ones, or rig up some kind of latch.

Look for some Rare Earth magnets...they have them in different sizes at Home Depot and Lowes. They have great holding strength, but are very brittle...don't drop them... They should fit the bill though.

Hi
What I did is remove the hole screen assy down and removed the end cap and took some of the spring tension off.
Be careful not to pull the cap off to far cuz you will loose all the tension on it.
So remove the two screws and pull out a little and turn it counter clockwise a few turns
It's the same set up as a pull down shade.
I did this and it's so much easier to pull down and it stays on the magnets much better.
Hope this helps.
I also posted a much more step by step if it loses all it tension .

This is the correct answer. The magnets are more than strong enough, just gotta be loosened up a bit to work properly. No need to do any other mods.

Speaking of the rear screen... forgot I had mine down last night, and tried to walk through it. DOH!

While I didn't tear the screen itself... of course, I did manage to pull one side of it out of the frame.

I seem to recall where someone redid their screen a while back, detailing how to remove the unit and reinstall the screen. Anybody got a quick link to that? Thanks...
