Rear dragging

I had the rear of my 1 month old 3990 with full body paint drag today. I am sick about it. Has anybody had the rear corner trim replaced ? That is all it messed up it bent it out.

Has anybody ever installed drag wheels on the rear?

Have you tried a search for skids or skid wheels. There are several threads on the topic and the consensus is skid plates over skid wheels.

I bought a set of wheels for mine before seeing and reading about the skid plates that a forum member built - that is the route I am going...

Yep, learned the hard way on a different trailer. First mod we had done before we picked it up. Our dealer offered them Installed $200.00. There an all steel 3" round and 4" wide roller welded on.

This is not my trailer but its exactly whats on mine. RV Skid wheel, camping world has them as well.

I had a little rub on mine also. Luckily, it was minimal. It doesn't take much of a dip for rubs.

Brought our new 3805 home yesterday, a 70 mile trip from the dealer. Upon inspection I discovered I too had a messed up corner trim and broken license frame. Don't how or when! That takes the new off of it.

I feel your pain on the body damage. If you have a burgundy and black paint scheme, I have the paint codes for you. I picked up an 18" scratch on my 3990 when my awning broke. Of course it went across all 5 paint colors. Again, sorry about your damage.

Ouch! The first one hurts the worst and when it's cosmetic, it's a double ouch. On the plus side you have it out of the way.

Sounds like the license plate needs to be relocated.

Dutchmen was kind enough to put built in skid plates on our trailer. Everytime I drag the backend, I just get out a spare stabilizer jack and replace the bent one.
Speaking of which, I'm down to one spare. My local auto parts store should be putting them on sale soon, at $15 each.

You would think that the manufacturers could spec skid plates when they order frames.

You can also do an "axle flip" which will raise your trailer about 4". That improves the clearance and therefore reduces the chance of dragging.
