Ramp screen door not staying down

We were camping this weekend and tried out the pull-down screen on the ramp. We found the two magnets would not hold the screen down. While I'm searching the net for a fix, my wife suggests loosening the magnets. I backed out the mounting screws a little and her idea worked! Seems the magnets weren't in solid contact with the metal plate and loosening the screw fixed that.

Easy fix for you, mine were out of alignment. The optically impaired installed mine.

Mine was doing that because the screen mechanism was installed a little crooked. Also my screen would come out of the channels that it was suppose to ride it. Allowing flying insects to get in. You might want to check that. I didn't notice it right away.

I had a list of stuff for the dealer to deal with so they managed to fix the screen problem.

Also, mine had a huge gap up top where the mechanism is mounted to the wall. There is about a one inch space between the screen mechanism and the wall. The factory slapped a piece of 1/8 wall board up there but did not get close to sealing the gap. I fixed that myself.

Mine was the same way. Had to shim the magnets.

As mentioned the screen material in the side channels will come out on occasion as well.

I found mine doing the same thing on my PDI and the dealer already had tapered shims on hand that he installed in two minutes. Once they are level, the screen stays put.

Checked that out on my PDI and they worked fine. Wife had to pull hard to get it free as the magnets worked very well.
