Picked up my V 3605 this weekend!

So I took delivery of my V3605 this weekend and I must say I'm highly impressed and very pleased. I spent at least 3 hours with the lead technician doing a very detailed and thorough PDI, big kudos to this guy as not only did he cover all the basics but went into some tips and tricks as well. One thing he told me, and I wanted to bounce this off you all for accuracy, was that all current Voltage construction is now being done by Keystone and NOT Dutchmen? Does this sound like fact, or is it BS?? He said the quality of construction has dramatically improved over the past 6 months and the newer "Keystone" builds have had much less problems. He joked about how the shop would keep a bucket for each manufacture scrap found in the trailer at delivery, and the Dutchmen bucket would fill up twice as fast as anyone else. I think the only issue we had at all was the missing patio awning leg feet that seems to be the norm. Of course this was noted, and supposedly they are on the way.

The only other problem I've had, and I really don't know if it's a problem yet, is with the Auto Level system. I parked the RV in my pasture on a fairly level spot, but when I attempted to auto level it "faulted" and was drastically unlevel. I just manually leveled it and all was ok afterwards. I was thinking that maybe the Auto system just can't handle awkward or above average leveling situations, and that it's normally used when at an RV park with paved pads? Any advice on this?

Everything looks fantastic so far, we will be heading to South Padre Island on Friday morning for her maiden voyage!

Congrats on the new rig, My wife and I picked up ours a few weeks ago. As for the Keystone thing, look at the manufacturers label on the drivers side of the trailer.... It will say manufactured by Keystone! Mine does.

Enjoy the rig! we love ours!!!!

On the Auto Level issue. The one time I had mine fault was my very first time out on the road. It Auto Leveled fine here at home. The problem I had was the ground was to high (up hill) at the front of the trailer so when the trailer dipped up front to try to level it sensed the ground was to far off and faulted. I ended up getting it level enough and used only the front jacks. The front was dropped far enough that I had to dig a hole for my front steps to get the last step down. Live and learn.

Read your instructions and calibrate level. It is pretty simple once you figure out the process. Also, find a spot in the trailer that you trust as your level spot. I have tried 4 foot carpenter levels in different spots. My living room floor will tell me one thing. My garage floor another as well as the bathroom another. With my trailer. The island counter top is what I use. And a bubble level or my iPhone works great.

Congratulation on your new rig. Enjoy.

My V3605 built 12/13 says Dutchman on its build tag. Pulled the storage wall off to check out what others have said was a mess. Only thing I found was one small piece of foam & a slight amount of shavings. Vacuum can be remounted to give some more room but after that no problem. Mine had the rear awning feet. Only problem I've found was when we opened the vacuum attachments the wand was missing. Sure not a Dutchman problem.

Jon,

What stereo/player came in your V3605? One of those questions I didn't ask before ordering mine.

We have a Voltage on order, and saw the paperwork from Dutchmen and it says "A Keystone Company". Hoping the build is in-fact better. Thanks for posting your experience and enjoy the new set up!

RV checklist

For anyone buying a new RV attached is a checklist of thing to inspect. If you complete this checklist when the dealer says he has completed his PDI you will find in most cases they do not perform an inspection this comperhensive.
I have a Voltage 3970 2014.

MY PDI took 2 hours and didn't find any problems. Shake down camping found bottom rail in shower leaked. I used silicone and fixed that myself at home. I'm all with my V3605.

Ours came with a Sony model # MEX-DV1700U. Not the best out there, but not too bad. I plan on installing a PS3 for my grand daughter which will also double as a Bluray player.

Thanks for the stereo/audio info, guys! I found myself wondering what audio inputs the unit would take. I could see us picking Valerie up with no way to play our music!

Congratulations Jon on the new rig and also the Keystone build. That sounds much better and I hope you enjoy it immensely. My rig is a 2013 before Keystone. While overall it is still great there have been many little disappointing odds and ends to replace/redo/correct. Sounds like you are starting out on a new foot and that's fantastic!
