No hot water in shower?
Hey guys, looking for some help! Currently I am at wits end with my issue and if I can't figure it out soon I will be taking it to some type of repair shop.
Recently we purchased a new to us 2015 Voltage 3605 fifth wheel camper. We love the unit and extremely happy this far with our purchase... However, we have no hot water in the shower. Now let me explain...
Water heater is lit and on for hours, on gas... We look in the peep hole and verify that we have ignition just to make sure it actually is running. We have warmish water at each sink within the rv however when it comes to the shower we have nothing. The bypass valve is on normal. We turn the hot water valve on the whole way and it is no where near warm let alone hot. Yes there is a difference in water temps from the hot and cold side. But the water is warmer at the sink than the shower. But I can't stress enough that the water isn't what I would call warm. I would say ambient temperature.
What am I missing? What is the issue? We tried the hot water heater on electric and gas with same results. Are we missing a valve somewhere else?
Thanks for the help, like I said above we are sick of the nightly polar bear plunges!

Check to make sure the faucets on the outside shower are closed.

Really sounds like your bypass is still open. Bypass should be closed between cold going into hot tank and hot coming out of tank ????

Defiantly sounds like the hot water tank is bypassed. Was it winterized before you bought it? Is there hot water coming out of any of the other sinks or just the shower?

Most postngs with this complaints are resolved by what Sundancer said; outside shower valves are open.

Before turning on the water heater did you properly fill the water heater tank by opening the pressure relief valve located at the top of the outdoor access compartment and waiting until water spurted out? If not shut the water heater switches off then open that valve (just a lever that swings up) when water comes out shut it and turn gas switch on.

this sounds like the most logical reason ....cold mixing with hot thru the bypass line ...
if outside shower lines were open there would surely be water running on the ground

You said it, cold mixing with hot. In this case mixing within the mixing valve body of the outside shower.

Owning an RV IS a learning curve. Fortunately our membership can answer questions that stump dealers and confound manufacturers.

Double check the bypass valve(s), there can be 1-3 depending on the set up. Also as mentioned check the outside shower and make sure the handles are turned off.

I'm betting the winterizing bypass is still closed.
Forgot that on mine once...hot water heater didn't fill and burned out an electric element. Its now on my check list...and I try to remember to open the bypass as soon as I've drained the water heater.
Don't think the outside faucet like Sundancer showed us would be a problem. Now forgetting to put the hose on and blow both sides out as part of winterizing is not something you want to forget. Been there done that.
I have a 2014 Voltage Epic 3800 and I'm able to crawl into the "basement", remove the panel and look at everything in the plumbing system. Since its just about under the bathroom, you should be able to trace all the PEX. White is cold, Red is hot.

We bought ours used in August. The water for the sink would get warm but never hot. When I went to winterize it I discovered the previous had the valve to bypass the Water Heater open.

Oh yes it can. Leaving those two valives on will cause entire system to mix.
