New VOLTAGE Floor Plans - EPIC 3 - Other Info

I received some new Voltage info from a dealer I work with occasionally... thought I'd pass it along.

First off, there are 3 new floor plans: 1 for the V-series, and 2 for the mainline. There are...

The V3605:

The 3970:

And the 3990:

I saw the 3990 at the Hershey RV show, and it is very nice. The main TV is now at eye level instead of placed high up on the wall. If there is anything I didn't like about it, it's that the head of the bed is in a slide-out. I just personally don't like that, but that's just me.

Anyway... probably the bigger news is the addition of an Epic 3 package. Now this is strange to me, because I swear that Ditchmen rep told me point blank at the show that there were going to be no further Epic 'levels'. That it would simply be called the Epic package from now on. The first word I got from this was from a fellow poster on here who is awaiting their rig to be built... and noticed that the Epic 3 was listed on his invoice.

In any event... here's a flyer listing what the Epic 3 consists of:

That Epic III package is NICE!! I saw that at the Hershey show too, but they didn't call it "Epic III". I just thought the local dealer had installed some goodies in a show rig. But all stainless appliances... Sony TV's all around with a Sony head unit for the main cabin... Remote Control for many items included the Auto-Leveling hydraulic jacks, lighting, etc. As I said.. very nice!

Here are some photos that were included in the info that was sent to me. First 2 are from the 3970 showng the Graphite interior:

These 2 are from the 3600 with the Java interior:

And these 2 are from a 3200 showing what they'r enow calling a Teak interior:

Very nice. I wonder what made them go to two axles on the V3605. That makes me wonder if the 3rd axle on my 3600 is overkill.

I'd also really like to know if the existing Carefree electric awnings can be retrofitted with that LED light strip that is in the EPIC III. One thing I miss about my old camper with manual awning was the multi-colored LED light strip I added. It stayed attached to the tube, so all I had to do was plug it in. I'd need to bring an 8' ladder with me if I wanted to do the same with this one. It would be really nice if I found that there was constant 12v in one of the awning motor housings.

I like the living room layout of the 3970 but the bed in the slide and the small kitchen is a deal breaker for me.

I doubt that you would find a constant source of 12 volts out there on the motor heads. The only time you'd find any voltage is when you would be retracting or extending the awnings.

Questions for you Voltage owners. I am looking at a way to install a wheel chock in my 3990 (being delivered next month) to hold my Harley. I want it to be removable (and mountings flush to the floor) when I remove it, as we will be using the garage as living space most of the time. Thinking of a Condor wheel chock, but at a loss on how to flush mount it. Also, how hard is it to remove the pan from under the unit to get to the tanks and sub-floor? Not real handy. Something an idiot can do or should I take it in?
Thanks,
Rusty

Yep, you want a Condor Pit-Stop chock, with the adaptor kit. The adaptor kit installs permanently into the floor, and the chock fits into it when needed:

Condor Pit-Stop/ Trailer Stop Wheel Chock with Trailer Adaptor Kit (PSTK 6400)

I've used this system in multiple applications (my RV, an enclosed trailer, the bed of my truck)... and all I need is the one chock, and 3 of the adaptor kits.

The chock locks in place by inserting the 2 lugs on the bottom of the chock into the holes on the adaptor plate... sliding back, and then inserting a thumb-screw into the center hole. Takes about 30 seconds to install or remove. Once the chock is removed, here's all that's left in the floor:

I'm a huge believer in this system, as I've hauled many bikes using it over the past 10 years with not a single incident. Plus, if you'd like, after removing the chock from the RV... you can set it on the ground and use it to hold any bike up without a kickstand. This aspect is great for mini-bikes and off-road bikes if you have them.

I sure don't know what's new for the V3605 floor plan that is, my 2014 is the same. Mine has a 11' garage & is 38'9" long so something is wrong with their tape measure on this "NEW" V3605.
All "V" series have two axles.

Everyone I've spoken to recommends the Condor. My only concern is the wife getting cranked tripping over the mounting bracket. Wondering if there can be a quick release or pin for easily removing the bracket once I remove the chock? Other than that issue, my problem is solved. Motorcycle show in Chicago in two weeks. Condor is always there. Maybe an answer. Thanks

I feel so , guess I can blame it on the rain we are getting today.
Don't see that very often around here.

It is an old post but questions remain. Some say the V series is the cheaper line of Voltage but I have a 2013 V3800 with three axles and all the bells and whistles.
Four TVs, glass bowl sink, microwave/convection oven, vacuum, Onan generator and all that other stuff. I don't know the difference betweem the V and not the V but I do know there's six tires out there and more stuff than I need or want.

I hope you got seven tires with your Voltage. Besides price, major differences between the "V" and yours is two axles compared to three. Your fueling tanks are 10 gal more each than mine. Larger water, gray & black tanks. I have no glass bowel sinks or convection oven. No garage option A/C, your counter top are higher class than what I have. Your a/c controller has zones mine doesn't. No Epic 3 package option for mine.
Mine can be towed with a SRW truck & not be overloaded you need a Dually.

.

I had the dealer install a bike pro wheel chok in my garage, the holder comes off the base plate, and I just roll the carpet right over top, can't even tell its there

bike pro wheel chok comes off very easy, loosen two cap nuts, and the braket slides back about an inch, then lifts off leaving a flat steel plate behind, that's really close to flush on the floor, its raised high enough to get the hex head between the floor and the plate. That's it, easy as that

Rusty, I found a system called "The Biker Bar" made by B&W hitches. http://www.turnoverball.com/products...ycle/biker-bar I originally got this because I have to load my bike on a hill by my self when I'm leaving home and I cant get off the bike to strap it down. the other great thing is that when you remove the two bolts from the inside you only have two small holes in the floor that we always cover with a rug. Its a little costly but I love it, they even state that you really don't have to strap the bike down, but I always do anyway. all the brackets are on the underside of the trailer. The underside of my garage floor is not covered so it was easy to install once you find the proper location (I suggest using a fried for that part).

Yeah, Pingel also makes a similar type chock as BikePro, that bolts into the floor.

While usable (and I don't mean this in a condescending way)... they don't really do anything to protect the wheel. They merely stop it from going forward, and your tie-down straps are what keep the bike in place.

In contrast, the Condor "cradles" the front tire... and stops it from going forward OR rearward without significant effort. With the front wheel in place, your bike will stand up straight on it's own without the need for a kickstand. In this way, your tie-down straps aren't quite redundant... but are used to hold the bike steady while rolling down the road. This means your straps don't need to be nearly as tight... which reduces the stress placed on the front shocks, resulting in less blown fork oil seals.

Either will do the job... it just depends how well you wish to protect your expensive toys.

ATC guy brings up a great point about the front fork oil seals.

+1 on the Pingel, I've hauled bikes for years and not one blown seal. They also have a removable type that just leaves nubs on the floor. A nice product.
