New Valve Stems
A couple of question to you all....
I am going to order some metal valve stems to replace the brass core, rubber coated stems I currently have. When I had my tires replaced, the tire shop put the current ones on stating they had a 100 psi rating (I run the tiress with 99 psi in them now)...I would like to be able to put the tire up to 110 psi, while not being at the max cold pressure of the stem...
My last trip out, my TireMinder TPMS had a couple of sensors that flashed "No Signal", while the temps seemed a little low, both events I think will be remedied by bolt on valve stems.
Question 1: For those that have replace your valve stems, which kind did you get? I know I need to have some where the nut is on the outside of the wheel. More specifically, what length have y'all gone with? Do you have TPMS sensors and do they work well with it?
Question 2: I am wanting to do this on a weekend...I am in a park for the next two months with no intentions to move. There are enough folks here for me to utilize spare tires to swap so I do not leave the trailer on stands while I am gone... What would be the best way to do this? Since I am set up (slides out, services hooked up, leveling jacks down, etc....), can I jack each axle to remove tire/install spare and set back down, or should I pull all the slides in and retract the leveling jacks prior to doing this?
As always, thanks for the insight!
Cale
