Need advice of winterizing Voltage

Being a newbie to my 2013 Voltage maybe some old hands here can help me out. I will need to winterize my unit soon and I understand how to do it but am unsure in one facet of the process. I have in my control panel on the outside and a winterizing connection. My question is how do i get the antifreeze (approved type) into the winterizing connection. Do I need a special hookup to connect the bottle to the connector or what method do i use to get the antifreeze into the hole? Do I pump it in or siphon it in? Also do I start the onboard pump prior to injecting the antifreeze or after?? TIA

Winterizing

In the 2 trailers I've owned (previously a 2009 Jayco Designer and now a 2012 Infinity 3640RL), you attach a short hose to the winterizing port and place the other end in a container of anti-freeze. Then start the pump (after setting your control panel selectors to the winterization position) and the antifreeze should get pumped into the system. Open each tap, one at a time, and bleed the antifreeze through until you see the pink.

Good luck!

Thanks Kevin for the reply but maybe I was not clear enough on the hookup. is There a SPECIAL fitting or hose i need from the antifreeze bottle top to the winterization port? Is it a siphon effect or in essence how do you get the fluid from the bottle to the port? A skinny hose stuck into the hole will not work so that is my question.

Cut a section of old garden hose and connect to the Winterizing port(lower right).

Place the Water Heater By-Pass lever(on left) in the By-Pass position.

Place the Winterizing lever(on right) in the Winterizing position.

Place the end of the old garden hose in the RV antifreeze jug.

Switch the Water Pump to the "ON" position.

Open each water faucets, one at a time, to allow antifreeze to run out.

Close the first faucet you've opened and go the the next faucet. Repeat for each faucet.

Once antifreeze has run through all faucets, toilet valve and outside shower connection, switch water pump to the "OFF" position.

Thanks so much ERVM. That is exactly the information I needed how to attach the antifreeze to the system. I still have another couple months till freezing time to get it done here. But I have to get ready.

I just went through this yesterday. Agree with everything you said except my water pump never drew any anti-freeze from the bottle. I had to pump it from the bottle into the system. My other brand (SOB) used to draw it right from the bottle. I thought this would have done the same. Thoughts?

I had the same problem the first time I winterized my 3200. I found that if I opened one of the faucets in the trailer, the antifreeze was sucked into the trailer. I think the pump won't prime when it is pumping against what little pressure builds up in the plumbing system when all of the faucets are closed.

Make sure you inlet connection is tight as well or it will suck air instead of antifreeze.

I am also a newbie to the v3200 and I am wondering if these units can be winterized by blowing out the water system with compressed air. All my previous units this has worked fine and just wondered how to do it on this unit with the winter package on it. Gord

Yes, you can use compressed air but make sure you turn down the pressure. You don't need much. Don't forget the outdoor shower either!

Hot water 2 way valve

2011 Dutchman Voltage v3200

I need help. When I arrived in Florida from Canada the hot water 2 way valve was cracked. Wanting to get the water system up and running I quickly cut out the 2 way valve and routed the water lines and cutting out the valve.

I now have a new valve but have a BIG problem .. I do not remember which line went where ??

I'm wondering if you might be able to tell me where the 3 lines go ?

One line is red .. one line comes from the 12 volt water pump .. one line comes up through the floor

Look forward to your reply ..

Tks in advance

The red line should be for hot water and will be located near the top of the heater.
The line coming from the pump is incoming water to tank itself. That one should be in the lower part of the tank.
The one coming out of the floor would be tied into the incoming line.
Someone else will have to help with the valving, mine is different and in a different location and not visible.
I say should because, well, just because.

Welcome to the forum wildbill.

I use about 6 gal but we have a washer in the garage, otherwise you could get by with 4 to 5gal, I'm also pretty liberal with it.
