Ladder obsolete on 2016 voltage?!

Had a run in with some tree branches and damaged the ladder. Our dealer has been trying to source a replacement and has told us there's nothing available. Anyone else run into this?

Most of us agree the OEM ladder is pretty much useless for anything other than getting on the roof. I tossed mine several years ago because I didn't feel safe climbing it and replaced it with an extension ladder that can be used anywhere on the RV I want.

The tree may have done you a favor, get yourself a portable ladder that can be used for many purposes to maintain the RV.

I agree, spend the money on a good portable. I have a rear mounted ladder on my motor home that doesn't instill confidence when you climb it. If I have to access the roof I use a proper extension ladder.

My OEM ladder is in pristine condition after 5.5 years because it's in my stick house garage. I carry an extension ladder.

I rarely use my Voltage ladder on the side of my unit. I bought a decent collapsible extension ladder. Bummer is I hate to lean it against the unit even though I cushion it with rags, etc. I just went out and bought an 8' step ladder for cleaning and waxing, etc. Bummer is there is no place to strap it on the rear, and it sticks to far out the side if you hang it on the existing ladder. I'll find a way to get it back north come spring or I'm going to have to wait until Aaron comes out and builds a mount under the RV to store it on. LOL.

Mine didn't come with a ladder. So after joining here 6 months ago and brushing up on all the proper maintenance procedures, I realized I would need to use a good ladder for almost all of the procedures.

Got one of those fancy high $dollar articulating things. It's a beast. Looks like it would last forever too. And indeed, it makes cleaning and climbing on and off easy and stable as a rock.

However, no way would it be my "roady" ladder. Although it will collapse down enough to stuff it in the bed of the truck, I just can't allocate the portion of my GVW that thing would consume.

So I'm still researching the highest quality ladder per pound candidate.

My Werner 17' Class 1A weighs 40lb and is worth every oz. It's strapped up against the inside of the ramp when I travel.

I use a Telesteps 1800EP telescoping ladder. Works great and stores easily.

Rusty... I haven't gotten around to building a under vehicle ladder rack... yet.

If I have to climb on top of my RV's I always use an extension ladder and place it against the rolled up awning to protect the camper. I have used this basic technique for years. New barn is going to have storage platforms that are going to be high enough I can lean over and be on top of the RV with minimal fuss and bother.

I have these zip tied to the fly of my ladder for protection.

I had the same thing happen to me on my Fuzion. The branch caught the top part of the side ladder and the roof top mounted section also. Try Trekwood RV.com. Thats where I got my replacements. Putt in your camper info, click on hardware, then ladders.
