Kitchen grey water tank

We are new to our Voltage 3200 and love it! Today, our kitchen sink stopped draining. I think I understand now about the two grey tanks. My question is about the kitchen sink grey water tank. Looks like I need to drain it from a slide valve between the tires on the port side of the trailer. Is this correct? Why doesn't this drain thru a hose? I don't see other RVs with water running from under their units. I think I understand the bath grey water and black water drains. Thanks for the help! We are happy to be with Dutchmenowners!

The pull handle is located at the tires for the galley tank. When you pull it the water will drain out the sewer dump black pipe. When camping I usually leave the galley tank pulled if I have full hook ups. That way the galley tank will drain all the time. I keep the bath gray water tank with water in it as we shower and use the sink.. this way we have plenty to flush out the lines when we make a black water dump the gray from the bath follows.

Thank you for the response. In my question, I now realize that I was looking at the drain for the fresh water. Found the valve as you described and we are back to being happy campers! Thanks for the quick help!

Ditto here. I leave the kitchen drain open all the time. Since we use the bathroom grey water to flush after sewer dump there is no need for the kitchen water to pile up!

Yep... the Tanman & hitman run theirs the same way I do... especially since I have a washer/dryer unit in my garage, which I usually run every other night when I'm out. Just one cycle in the W/D unit will nearly fill the 2nd grey tank... so I just leave it open.

Good information here. Now maybe if I ever have the opportunity to use a facility with hookups I can try this out. Meantime, dry camping is our lot in life. So all valves remain in the closed position until it's time to dump our load. (I crack myself up.)

How much water does your washer use? Also, Curious what brand and how you like it?

I never got any when I did it. My son lived in a Montana 5th wheel we had for a year in Phoenix & never had a problem either. It only had one gray tank like the Teton we also have. As long as there is water in your pee trap & your vent pipe is clear you shouldn't have any problem.

Nope. No smell

Not me. I keep all my tank valves closed until I'm ready to dump. Reason being I like to have lots of gray water to flush the pipes coming from the black tank and the hose to the sewer. Many times I don't hook up my sewer hose so my neighbors on that side don't have to smell it.

On my unit the kitchen grey makes no difference in flushing the pipes so I keep it open. I use the grey tank for the bedroom which is mostly shower water to flush after dumping black. I let that bedroom grey tank fill up before I empty it.

Me too. I guess I feel like a full grey tank helps to flush out the food particles from the tank. I also back flush it pretty regular.
