How water heater - pressure relief valve leaking.

I tried on gas and electric. Both causes the hot water over pressure relief valve to fire. It causes corrosion of everything below it.

When I bought this thing from RV World of Georgia the tech that gave me the tour told me that the corrosion was nothing to worry about. So apparently, this flaw existed on the brand-new unit. He was wrong, and not confidence inspiring.

BTW, the water is really hot. I'm thinking the sensor that detects the temp must be defective (if there is one??). I don't see any way to adjust the temp (other than the adjustment on the gas), and I don't see a user serviceable temp sensor either.

Anyone else have this issue? and a resolution? New hot water heater?

I can only tell you that on my unit, there is no thermostat to adjust water temperature. I was advised that it is factory set high, to offset the relatively small size of the heater; hotter temperature= less hot water used. I have been advised that there are aftermarket thermostats you can buy and add, but since I don't have small children that risk getting burned, I've just adapted.

The relief valve also senses over temperatures as well as over pressure. The valve may be reacting to over temperature. There are sensors that control temperature and but I can't give you specifics.
We need year and flavor of your RV so we can be informed and steer you in the right direction.

The RV weenie was blowing smoke, a tight system is just that. No leaks, no corrosion..............

It's a 2015 Dutchmen Rubicon 2500. Oh, and BTW when testing I plugged the pressure relief valve to see (with minimal tools) IF that is where the corrosive water was coming from. I got a leak in the plumbing inside at the sink. So definitely over pressure issue.
TIA

It's a new rig that warranty should cover. Of course I don't need to tell you that.

Inside the water heater compartment should be the ECO thermostat. The thermostat consists of a temperature cut off switch and the thermo control.

There may be a wiring problem with the ECO or one of the switches may actually be bad. If the ECO is replaced I'd replace the TPR valve also.
If you don't have the above a photo will help greatly.
