I hope you have camped more than 30 min. from your home. If not you are missing out on what RVing is all about.

To each their own. Quite often that is the only choice we get. I travel for a living as does my wife. For both of us to get more than a couple of days off together is rare. We go when we can. The less time spent driving the better.

I know plenty of people that buy a big 5ver then park it on a seasonal lot. Other buy fancy, expensive motorhomes and seldom move them. I saw a 10 year old Alfa See Ya moho with only 35,000 miles on the odometer.

We try to camp at least once a month for a 3 day weekend, within 150 miles from home, but go out for long distances about 3 times a year. We love the National Forest (Dry Camping) from fall through spring and riding the RZR's. I hear the Forest calling my name!

We do not have a Voltage, but I think I can safely say that ANY RV will leak under the right circumstances. Earlier this year we were in Amarillo, TX in a storm the likes of which I would have to think hard when I saw before, and we had leaks. The wind was blowing so hard and the rain was coming down in buckets and two of the windows simply could not drain the water fast enough and it came in around those two windows. Couple of towels took care of the problem but I have to admit it was aggravating at the time.

Any shelter, manmade or natural can leak under the right conditions. You deal with it as you really have no other choice.

We are currently 2600 miles into a trip, and although we have had lots of rain, so far, no leaks on this trip. Given we have another 900 or so miles to home, I will not say we will not have any. Stuff happens, you deal with it and move on.

Yes, of course we travel further for occasional trips. But usually once a month I take the family to a local campground for a quick weekend get away.

Roof Leak

I had a leak in my roof we noticed the first time the rig was exposed to heavy rain when we were in Minnesota. Turns out the sealant had cracked and peeled away from the surface of the roof. This is the sealant around the antenna. Dealer gave me a tube of sealant and did fix myself. No leaks since.
