Gas Pump Station Not Working

Hello all. Brand new to the forum and have an issue with my brand new Voltage 3970. I have half a tank of gas in the forward gas pumping tank and can't get it to pump any fuel. I turned on the switch and the gauge activates but no gas pumps. Any Help?

Do you hear the pump run? It does take two hits on the switch to activate the pump. The first hit makes the gas gauge respond while another hit of the switch starts the timer for the pump.

sundancer 87,

I am hitting the switch twice and I hear no motor noise from the pump.

Since the fuel gauge works we can assume 12 volts are there. That leaves the timing circuit or the pump itself.

The pump could be bypassed to see if it is working easy enough. I don't know where the timing circuit is but if I had to guess I'd say it's behind the panel where the switch and gauge are.

Not sure, but I thought the front tank was for the gen. And the rear tank was for the gas pump... ? Not sure

Not on my 3905. My rear tank is for the generator. If you look underneath, you'll see the piping for the pump.

Common sense dictates, wait, I know, it's a Dutchman product but with the fuel nozzle in front of the tanks it makes sense to use the closest tank for the pump and nozzle. That would be the forward tank but one never knows with these things.

Front tank is for the pump station & rear for the generator. I put diesel in the front tank & gas in the rear tank. When I turn pump on it pumps out diesel not gas.

So what was the issue? My 2013 3950 is doing the same thing. I can hear a click (like a relay) but haven't had time to dig into it yet.

Hey Rat, I saw a diesel nozzle in an Atwood's store the other day. Just an FYI in case you might want to change the nozzle.

I don't see any need to change out the nozzle it works fine. I can kick myself for not buying the 12' fuel hose I saw on vacation that was $22.00. It was at a Runnings store & we don't have anything like that out here in California. Can find a 10' hose on the web but that extra 2' would be nice.

I was thinking mostly of the safety of the color of the nozzle, you know, in case someone other than you didn't know it was diesel in there.

Of course if someone is stealing your fuel, oh well...........
