My main AC needed duct tape between the warm and cold air sides. There was a 1" gap that allowed the air to "short circuit" or recirculate inside the unit instead of going out the vents. If you take off the filter cover (at least on mine) you can see the gap at the top. There was also a 4" junction box box blocking 30% of the inlet air, it was just laying there so I fastened it out of the way with wire ties. I now have very good flow from all vents. There was almost none before.

I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and remove that wooden thing from the ceiling covering the air conditioner above the island to see if I can free up the airflow.

You can get to it from the roof too. There's 4 phillips screws holding on the plastic cover. After removing the cover, remove the top half of the internal foam housing, there was nothing holding it on just fitment. Then you can look inside from the top and see if you have any issues.

Oh OK. I already moved the junk out of the duct from the roof. Thanks.

There is nothing under that cover but a ceiling. I had contemplated putting another vent there, but quickly waived off... What I did do was replace the 6x12 vents with 12x12 vents and installed a normal home filter...this helped a lot.

I need to check the end of the run in the garage. My last RV had the duct open, I used expanding foam to correct that deficiency with great results.

I will also be adding one more ceiling vent in the trunk line in the living room...allow for more air to come out.
