Fuel Station Pump

I pumped all the fuel out of my tank about a month or so ago. While I was out on the road I put about 8 gallons in the fuel station tank. The gauge reads just under half. I tried to fill up my gas can this morning, but the pump runs and doesn't dispense. Sounds like its not picking up. Are these self priming? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I believe they are self-priming. I just can't ever remember which tank is for the gen and which is for the the toys.

Just filled up. Rear is for generator (I hope!). Off to Sturgis 06:00 tomorrow!

I got it working. I figured it had to be self priming. I had a little gas in my can and tried pouring it back down the nozzle to see if I could get it to pick up this morning. I tried again this afternoon and thought I might see if gravity could help me. I turned on the pump and held the nozzle open near the ground. After about 10 seconds I could hear the pump pick up and some nasty black gas came out for a second. Must be something in the pump or the paint inside the tank is dissolving. After I filled up my can, I turned off the pump and let it drain out completely. Looks like a good practice would not put the first second or two of gas in something you want to use in an engine.

I think the black comes off the hose. Eventually it stops doing that.

We have a single red cap filler neck between the fuel station door and the pump switch. Doesn't the single tank feed both the genie and the fuel station?

Not on mine. Two filling caps. I don't use the filling station at all and never have. Kind of wondering if I should put something in there just for preventative maintenance?

On the "Value" models, one common 30 gallon tank that feeds gen and fuel station. On the higher end models, 2 separate 20 gallon tanks, one for gen, other for fuel station. With the two tank system, one could pump into the gen tank if they needed more capacity.

Some have looked at switching the fuel station to diesel for tow vehicle.

Our V 3105 has one common tank.

Ha. I don't think there are any "Value" models; they're all pretty damn expensive. I think they are 30 gallon tanks though.

30 gallon tank for the generator, 44 on the other on my rig. Got those numbers off the two data plates on the tanks

On my "Value" model V3605 I have two tanks. 30 gal for gen & 20 gal for pump. I use the front pump tank for extra diesel for my T.V.
