Extended Warranty

We are about to buy a used Dutchman Voltage 3970. Do you have any recommendations for an extended warranty? The dealership offers one, but we have looked into both Good Sam and Wholesale Warranties. Any information would be appreciated.

Search this site. Just finished a thread on this topic. In summary, some like the security while other, more handy members don't care for them. I have ExtraRide. Good service and transferable.

I've tried to search this site but didn't find anything. That's why I asked. We are not trying to decide IF we want extended warranty but what company anyone can suggest, or has had any dealings with. We are both quite handy, but RV repairs can be very costly. Refrigerator in last toy hauler died at two years and one month out of warranty. $1500 to repair $3000 to replace!! We capped off gas line and put household fridge in.

I have Xtraride also and am happy with them. I had my hitch replaced and the living room slide mechanism replaced for $100. The cost on the slide was nearly $4k, while the hitch was right at $1200. No hassles from the warranty company (other than the few days wait for an adjuster to come out), but the repair facility was very happy I had them as an aftermarket warranty, they say they pay quickly with no questions asked. Matter of fact, I paid the deductible and rolled before Xtraride settled up the bill.

Great Question

We are picking up our 2017 Voltage 3451 and the warranty they are offering is from Cornerstone. Any comments or suggestions as this is our first rv and we want to start out on the right foot.

I have XtraRide. $100 deductible with tire and subsequent damage (covered part causes damage to uncovered part). I've used it two or three times. No problems. Every dealer I've used it with likes them and says they are among the better ones to work with. Only issue (probably the same with most of them) is that you need pre-approval before work can start. They do have some provision for emergency repairs however. Good luck with your new RV.

Buy the best one you can afford. Campers are made to throw money into like a boat. You will save yourself a lot of worries and headaches if you have a good warranty and try to get the lowest deductible. These campers are really poorly made with lots of issues. Two times my Gray water tank has been replaced. That alone would cost me a fortune to do. My main AC went out after 4 years and of course, my warranty ran out just before it went out. That was a cool 1200 dollars to replace. Numerous other things have gone south that was under the warranty.. I got my money worth for sure.

You may have to go thru a dealer, but here is the number I use when I have a claim question.
888.756.5529.

I just purchased an Extra Ride warranty from Eagle Vision RV LLC, 60 month, $200 deductible for $220 down and $64.33 a month.
Everything I have read or researched says they are a good company. I hope I never need them but I feel better knowing I have the warranty.

I think you'll be pleased. Good feeling knowing you're covered "in case". I've used them for my television set and awning arm. Very easy to work with.
