E-Z Flex Equalizer
One rear tire had abnormal tire wear and it was replaced yesterday. While looking for the cause I discovered there was a lot of slop in the Trailair Equa-Flex hardware. Time for a change. Did some researching and just ordered the E-Z FLex Equalizer from ETrailer. I particularly like it because it comes with wet bolts. Should get the stuff Sept 9th. Looks to be an easy install.

If you have a triple axle rig, I highly caution you against the wet bolts. At least for the rear most spring hanger. A few of us are having issues with them breaking. They are a great idea but just cannot withstand the stress that rear axle puts on it. I broke two last year and several this year (with nothing in the garage on all but one trip). I finally installed a grade 8 bolt it's place and no further breakages. I returned yesterday from a 1600 mile trip with no problems. The last breakage saw the spring hanger get destroyed so I welded replacements on at both rear positions as well.

UPDATE
I did the job in two days doing a side each day in about 3 hours per side. Pretty straight forward install. I finally got the rig onto the road yesterday for a test run and it sure was quiet with the wet bolts installed. Took it through town and onto the interstate and it seemed to be a bit smoother ride. Leaving Wednesday for San Diego for the real test.

UPDATE
Pulled 400 miles to San Diego. Wow! Trailer felt more solid, less bouncing going over bridges. Overall the ride felt a hole lot smoother compared to the dozens of trips over the same roads.

UPDATE again: Just returned from San Diego and 900 miles towing. I can't prove it was the E-Z Flex but my mileage was 10 mpg over the entire trip. Previous trips it was less than 9 mpg.

Installed my Dexter EZ-Flex last weekend. I have to replace a couple of lugnuts and then I am taking it for a test drive. Man what a difference in the way it looks. My daughter helped me pick up the old parts and even she commented on how much more robust the new system looks. If you are out there traveling around look into this system!

Replaced this 6 weeks ago. It was the rearmost on the street side.

Triple axle? I broke 2 last season and a few the year before. Went to a solid Grade 8 bolt and no issues since. Too much torque and flex for the hollow bolts. Great idea, but not strong enough

The hanger with the broken bolt was twisted but I was in such a hurry to get home because of the pandemic that I sledged it back into shape and put a new bolt in.
The hanger looks fine after the 1500 mile trip home.
I carry a spare hanger after having broken one on this rig and more on our Victory Lane before but I didn't want to waste time getting it welded on.
