Connecting Fuel Tanks Together

I read about this once in the past and ... cannot find it again.

Questions:
1) How would one connect the two tanks together so that, the generator would run off them both and the fuel nozzle would dispense from both? The 'salesman and tech' say, "pump fuel from the front tank into the rear tan with the fuel nozzle." Yea okay that would work but is not what I am looking for. I don't want to have to do that.
2) Drain valve(s): not something I am looking at doing myself if it involves drilling into the tanks. Is there a way to mount a drain valve somewhere? Possibly on the generator / pump side of the connection of the two tanks together?

haven't looked underneath to see exactly how it is set up, but look at it in terms of tank equalization. Tap into the pump suction side and gen suction side. Jump those together with shutoff a on both ends. For fueling up tanks and integrity. Filling I'd imagine you'd have to do each separate as they will not equal out that quickly

Not sure your reasoning to hook them together. Seems to me that I have much more control over what is happening with them working separately.

I definitely use more fuel on the pumping station tank than the generator tank. And if I were to need fuel for the generator I can simply add some from the fueling station if it is available.

I'm pretty sure the tanks are already connected together on the 3950. Here's my reasoning and proof. I recently took the coach out on a boondocking trip and as such decided to do a generator run to burn off the trash gas the dealer put in the tanks, and complete the break in so I can complete it's first oil change.. I filled my bikes once from the pump station, approx 5 gals pumped into the bikes to top them off (External tank gauge read above 3/4 full). I then ran the generator over the 5 day trip off and on for a total of around 45 hours. I found I had drained the rear tank completely and when I tried to transfer (What I thought) was the 20 or so gallons from the toy tank up front with the transfer station, it would not move any fuel and both tank gauges read empty. So on the trip home I filled both tanks ~30 gallons, mid grade fuel in both.

I can't explain why my toy tank emptied (other then connected tanks), so there's not point using premium in my toy tank and mid grade in the rear tank if they are connected.

I sure hope those tanks aren't connected. I will look at mine in two weeks when I pick it up. My plan is run diesel in the pump tank for extra fuel for my tow vehicle.

The tanks on my 2013 V3200 are not connected. I would them connected because when I am on generator I dont have to pump from one to the other. If I need 'gas' for my toy I can still pump it out. If I need more I will refill them. Now, yea I got it Stabil. Again not what I am looking for. If I don't need it for my generator, I want to use it for whatever I want to use it for. Currently, the rear tank it is generator only and it does not have a drain valve anywhere that I can find. To each there own. Thanks for all the responses.

The gas cap closest to the pump station. So yes, the front.

Could it be that someone stole some fuel from you. The tanks on my 3905 are defiinatly not connected, as I have not put any fuel in my toy tank yet, and it has remained empty.

No chance for stolen fuel, I have locking caps on it when I'm parked and they were in place that weekend. I'm almost positive my tanks are connected somehow and the genset will draw from the toy tank if needed. Once it's a bit warmer I'll have to drop the belly pan and take a good look I suppose.
