Added backup camera to my 300tq for around $35. I added a double din stereo with backup camera to my truck several years ago and used a license plate camera. It has worked fine for all this time.
I decided to add a similar camera to the back of the 300tq. Instead of the license plate I mounted the camera to the frame below the ramp door.
To switch from the truck camera to the trailer camera I will just unplug the truck camera and plug in the trailer camera.
Here's what you you will need
Camera
Length of cable I used was 50' but the best I can find now is 66'
female cable adapters that will allow the two cables to connect to each other.
bag of 8" wire ties.

Mount the camera

Run the wires

Wire to truck

Has anybody added a second Awning over the man door that goes into the garage on the 300tq?

I'm thinking a 8' or 10' electric awning similar to the original should have been added by the factory but since they didn't I was wondering if anyone has done this?

I am pretty impressed with the upgrades that Dutchman has added to the 300tq since a I bought my 2017 ie full size ramp door, wired for Satellite, wired for solar, 50 amp service and wired for second AC, aluminum wheels, electric front jack outside shower wow and the price is still what I paid for my 2017. That said, I was looking at some pictures of the 2019 300tq and it looks like they got rid of the side windows in the dinette! What's with that!

Just wanted to update that this Mod was a total failure. I don't know what it is. I ended up buying 3 different license plate cameras. My truck's camera is over 7 years old and works fine. The cameras either don't work at all or don't show in color. I even tried putting the camera from my truck at the back of the trailer but it did not work there but does work on the truck.

So back to the drawing board. I think I am going to go with a wireless camera monitor system....

More than likely it is due to the length of the cable run. They are designed with only so much cable in mind, adding more reduces the resolution from the camera.

I am going to try something different. I have a Rand Mcnally GPS that uses Bluetooth for adding cameras. Picked up one of their cameras dirt cheap and will give that a try. If the signal can reach the cab, then it will work.

I used the rand and it's associated monitor and it works GREAT. Doesn't use BLU TOOTH so it works longer than 33 feet.

Thats good to know. I have yet to actually use it at all. I got it all set up, mounted to the windsheild and it shook and wobbled so much is was useless. I have one more part coming from RAM, the suction mount, and pieced together a more secure shorter mount that hopefully wont be in 1/3rd of the camera eye either.

I would have bought a Garmin except they no longer make one with a Dash cam built in. I have a Nuvicam and it is great, but wanted RV mapping.

New 300tq owners

Purchased a used 2018 300tq a few weeks ago and absolutely love it! We're headed home to Florida after 5 nights in the North Georgia mountains and found this forum while killing time.

The trailer is in excellent condition, but there's no ladder to get into the upper bunk. Does Happijac sell them? We're definitely going to be copying the idea to strengthen the side frame and actually want to add rails for the grandkids. Would love to see pics if anyone has added them.

I made my own ladder from 1 x 3 oak and 1" oak dowel rods. I couldn't find a ladder that worked, either too tall or too short.

Congrats on the trailer and welcome to the forum. From such nice country as N. Georgia, you may forget your way home!

I've only seen pictures but I like the upgrade on the 2020 300tq with the fireplace and bedroom sliding doors instead of the curtains.

2016 300TQ water pump location?
I’m not near my TT now, it’s in another state, but I’m wondering if someone could tell me where the pump is located and how I access it. I think it’s a Shurflo but I’m not sure. I purchased the TT from a private seller and failed to ask.

If it's the same as a 2017 model it's behind a small panel with 4 screws below and to the right of the kitchen sink.
The larger panel to the right of it is the hot water heater.

I just finished installing a Kenwood HU in my F350. I have two more camera inputs on it, so this would be a good addition. Not only that, the one input can be switched on at any time. Here is a cable that will work for mine as well. https://www.amazon.com/Reverse-Parki...DHD7Z3VEYC7SMB

2016 300TQ question again; and I’m just trying to learn everything I can about it...
Where can I find the charging amps on the trailer batteries when I’m hooked up to my pick-up and rolling down the road...?
