Cable Slide Issue
Sorry, I am on vacation and will have two weeks to tinker with my 3970. I noticed the main slide was not pulling all the way shut next to the door. Upon investigation the self-tapping screws were over torqued during installation and 4 of 6 were stripped. That was allowing the bracket to pull in toward the camper wall at about 30 degrees and then getting stuck with about a two inch gap.
Instead of running to Lowes to buy slightly larger screws. I pulled the bracket off and was able to relocate all 4 screws. I then properly adjusted the tension and it works great. I am worried about the material the screw are sunk into. The thin outer plywood or particle board is pretty chewed up. I could see metal wall structure inside the wall but am now worried that it may fail due to the number of holes in such a small area.
This is what I found under the bracket. And it is hard to see but I tried to snap a pic of the seal that showed the bracket pressing in at the wrong angle.
