Broken stairs

Pushed the stairs in today so I could move the trailer, they folded up slightly crooked. After a closer inspection, the "hinge" on the left side second step has broken completely loose.

I looked up the recall for the steps, I am not in that batch of steps.

I found some Lippert steps on eTrailer (Lippert Manual Pull-Out Steps for RVs - Quad - 8" Drop/Rise - 24" Wide - Steel Lippert Components Enclosed Trailer Parts LC341504) which I think may work. The measurements are very close but the stair box is somewhat smaller, which by a quick measurement, looks like it will bring the steps down just to the bottom of the trailer skirting.

Have any of you replaced your steps? What did you use? How do you think these compare?

Don, if you read this, this is another that almost got me...I folded the two bottom steps, then went to push the stack in and almost clothes lined myself on the chin....

Cale, isn't your rig still under warranty? If so, I don't think I'd be buying more steps without trying to get them to replace them first.

It is under warranty, however, we are heading out Next Friday for our cross country move, and I would like to have it fixed prior to hitting the road, or by my first stop.... With that being said, I did drop a line to Dutchmen via their online request about the brand of steps and what not....I am hoping that their department is as good as the Keystone folks were when I had the Outback. I performed all warranty work myself and sent in receipts for parts and they reimbursed me for those parts only, no monies for my labor....which I was OK with. If I do not hear back by Monday, I will shoot my Keystone POC an email, as she had once told me that Dutchmen was going to be fully folded into daily Keystone operations WRT warranty processing...

recall

There has been a recall on the steps on some models from Dutchman and Keystone . You might want to check with the manufacturer.

How do you look up and see if you are part of the recall
