Another Voltage project - lighting

The month we were in Arizona we had one of the work lights on the door side of the Voltage croak. Just left it alone until we got home.

Upgrading the house to all LED bulbs, and the RZR, why not the Voltage? Just hate changing bulbs!!

A note, all the outside lights, the four black and the two white all have lenses that will pop off easily with a small screwdriver, or even just pushing up on the lens with your fingers.

I've found the best selection of bulbs on www.superbrightleds.com

The large, in my case black fixture, lights (of which there are four) use an 1157 bulb. The four are....passenger side forward of the window in the bedroom, driver side aft of the bedroom slide, and the two on the ramp.

The small, in my case white fixture, lights (of which there are five) use an 1141 bulb. The five are....above each entry door, the fixture in the wet cabinet and the ones under each exterior steps.

So what to order?

For the 1157 bulb enter 1157 in the search box and this is the one I chose:

1157 LED Bulb - Dual Function 45 SMD LED Tower - BAY15D Retrofit I chose the "cool white" color.

For the 1141 bulb enter 1141 in the search box and you'll find that there ain't an 1141, all these 1156 bulbs come up. Yup, look closely and you'll find its a replacement/substitute for the 1141. I chose this one:

1156 LED Bulb - 45 SMD LED Tower - BA15S Retrofit

You an select colors. I chose "cool white" for three that are exposed and "amber" for the two step lights.

These bulbs are each $14.95...but keep in mind the LED bulb puts out more light, uses lot less electricity, and will last longer that the RV, and possibly me. So worth the price, in my opinion.

Pirate while in Arizona you must not have visited Quartzsite. I have converted my last two rv's to led bulbs while at Quartzsite.

Yeah, we were in Quartzsite...just had no idea where to go looking for LED bulbs..

A particular vendor there? I know we will be there this coming Winter. Want to get rid of the halogen bulbs inside that fail. But have to get one out to do a comparison to get the right bulb.

Best vendors I found are during the Big Tent Event. That happens in January for 8 days.

Pirate - I also want to work to convert all lights to LED - please give some feedback when you get them installed so the rest of us will know if these particular ones are worth the coin.

You know me...I'll post when I get them figured out.

Today I'm taking measurements to add more overhead cabinets in the garage. Just going with similar color cabinets that Ace Hdwe sells. But going to make CAD drawings of what I want and then order.

I purchased my LED lights from amazon https://www.amazon.ca/GRV-Wedge-12-5...ywords=921+led I had to order 3 boxes of 10 bulbs to get all of the inside coach lights converted over to LED. I started with one box last year and they managed to hold up, so I ordered 2 more boxes. I will order my outside lights individually as I only need a few of them and there seems to be 4 different styles for the work lights, entry door lights ,the hanging lights over the island and sconce lights behind the sofa.

They make a huge difference when inside the coach, its much brighter inside, and more inviting I think. Watching a movie with bright white in the sconces on, might not be such a great idea, so I think I will order the soft white for those two. With every light on in the coach, i'm only consuming 2watts per bulb, and 30 bulbs is only 60watts total!!! Dry camping will never be the same, and forgetting a light switch on while out, won't make a huge dent in the batteries now

I don't know why they are rotated, they are normal in the folder, but you get the idea, i'm sure

Maybe you could put a dimmer on the sconce lights? My new Concord has some sort of flat panel LED light and it is on a dimmer.

Wondering...is your RV a Dutchmen or a Voltage?

Oh, looks like these will work fine for the type of fixture you show.

That's about half of what's in our Voltage Epic.

Hey pirate. My rig is a voltage V3605 with an epic package. I don't see any levels of epic packages for the "V" series like the high end voltage has, but the decal beside the door says "epic" and then I have arctic package as well with all the cold climate add on's too.

What year is your Voltage? Something tells me if you have the Epic sticker by the front entrance door...you have an Epic.

Graphics on the nose are also a good indicator.

Very interesting. My 2015 3800 Epic has light fixtures like you show in your pic...

one at the doorway from the kitchen area to the garage
two in the garage just forward of the happijack beds
one in the garage bathroom

All the rest are the 4" round fixtures with halogen bulbs.

The other thing to remember is, the "V" series is like the GMC Sierra and the "Voltage" is like the Denali. The "V" series has down graded lighting, sound system and tv's. The high end voltage has Bluetooth sound bars and Kenwood stereos and Samsung tv's (i think). You also have recessed halogen puck lights. The "V" series gets average run of the mill lights, a Sony car stereo style DVD player, 2 dinky marine dual cone speakers in the ceiling, no name Chinese tv's, no accent lighting in the island overhead trim.

The epic package really only gave me a stainless double door fridge, LED awning lights, bigger tv in the living room, heated and under lit reclining sofa, and an outside tv. Its really a down graded version of the higher and units and lower price tag for a similar size high and voltage. I also get a 39' trailer with only 2 axles, which really should have been a triple, considering the how much it weighs.

So true!! I have the Voltage Epic III 3800...and I got three of the cheap Haier TVs!

Have a great Kenwood stereo in the garage...with speakers in the garage and outside...none in the living area.

Did get the big stainless steel door fridge...and it is very nice...door magnets stick tho...

We like it very much!!! and glad we ordered the Epic III

How have they held up for you ? Looking on Amazon they have terrible ratings with everyone saying they burn out or flicker etc.
