Another newbie question ???????

Sorry for all the questions lately but we are taking our 5th wheel out for the first road trip. The tires say max PSI is 80 lbs. Should I fill them to 80 ? All six have right at 58 lbs. The PO said he used nitrogen in them for what ever that's worth.
Triple axle V3600.

Absolutely. That's a big trailer and you need max inflation.

If they were nitrogen filled they should not be at 58lbs... somebody's a story teller.

They may be Nitrogen filled, but regardless, 80 PSI cold is where they should be regardless of air or Nitrogen. I wouldn't worry about filling with air or mixing the two as it's more important to have proper pressure than having Nitrogen. Tiny, tiny advantage to Nitrogen from what I understand. Minute advantage in temperature and condensation issues. Very difficult to find Nitrogen on the road, especially when you need it, plus good luck getting your 44' trailer into a tire shop that sells it, to top your tires. Just my opinion .

What tires do you have? Look for the max inflation in the tires. Mine are max inflation 110 and run 100.
The nitrogen filled is just a sales brochure snow job. In the real world doesn't work.

Oops sorry I reread and you mentioned that in your first post. The stock tires have a very poor reputation. If you're going to put a lot of miles on it I would recommend looking into some new tires.

Nitrogen makes total sense.

For an AIRPLANE. Lol
Yea, marketing hype, for most circumstances, on the surface of the planet.

Thanks guys... I am glad I did a search before posting a question.
New-2-Us TT has nitrogen filled tires, Green valve stem caps, and a sticker on the window. I was concerned because even though they are radial tires they look low and I have no local shop that offers the service to fill them.
Sure, I get it... inert gas, larger molecules, and all... But... I have an AIR Compressor here at home and plain old air has been good enough for 100 years.
Figured better to be at proper inflation than a hard to acquire element.
