Air conditioner question ??

Is it necessary to turn the a/c's off at the thermostat before unplugging the RV even if they are not running at the time ?
What about the fridge as well ?
Thanks
SR

It's always a good idea to make sure there is minimal electrical load when unplugging (or plugging) to avoid arcing and slowly damaging your plug.

I always turn off the AC and the Electric Water Heat before disconnecting. That way they will be off when reconnecting. However, whenever possible, turn off the circuit breaker at the pedestal prior to inserting or removing the plug. Because the converter and possibly the fridge in auto are on, there is the possibility of an arc, which causes damaging corrosion on the plug (and outlet.)

When there is a breaker in the box at the park, I always shut it off first before plugging in or out. this keeps surges and accidental one leg (110/220) from being plugged in first. Would always be a good idea (in my opinion) to shut the AC and the other systems down if traveling. have you ever gotten fuel and the fridge came on while you were at the pumps?

When I disconnect shore power my fridge automatically switches over to propane.
