Question Actual Overall Length

To all Voltage 3600 owners,
Can you please confirm for me that the Trail Air hitch does not extend further forward than the forward most point on the trailer's front cap? My wife and I have had our hearts set on this floor plan, selected it and ordered the unit largely based on the advertised overall length of 40 ft or sometimes advertised as 39 ft 10 in according to Dutchmen's site. We now have information from a Dutchmen drawing that the overall length is 495 3/8 inches or 41 ft 3 in. from rear to forward most point on front cap. The only thing I've not been able to confirm is if the hitch extends for forward than that. Appreciate and feedback....

The furthest point of the hitch is the top of the shock, and I want to say it is about even with the forward most point of the front cap.

I agree, after looking at mine, the hitch is not forward of the front cap. BTW - we love our 3600. You're going to want to pull the center A/C (over the kitchen area) and redo the crummy taping job to the ducts. There are other minor issues but the A/C is a biggie.

On my 3905 the front cap is the most forward. As Sinecure said the hitch is almost even. I just plumbed down from the cap point the top of the shock on the hitch is 2" less.

I can't speak of the Voltage or the trail-air being more forward than the nose of the coach. I can say that Dutchmen's written measurements are written by a dumb ox. My 3850 was in a brochure and on their website as 38' 5" feet long. After a year went by it was posted on their website as 39' 10". I had measured my Infinity when I took delivery.......it's 39' 10".

Apparently, they're just sloooooow.

I measured today and the front cap extends forward of the hitch by about 2 inches.

My V3605 on the web & brochure says 38' 11". I measured it & came up with 38' 11".
First trailer I've owned that was what the brochure said. All the others (8) I've owned have been longer than stated.

I noticed in your signiature that you have 2014 Voltage. Still, took the Dutchmen idiots two years to get the measurements straightened out.

Over all measurement to me isn't a big deal one way or the other. Garage was, online showed 11' I measured 10' 11" that was good for me. Weight was my concern. My 03 Teton has a GVWR of 14,995. When loaded I was at 15,200. My V3605 is 16,500 when loaded I'm 15,700. 33' Teton is 34' long. Voltage is 39' foot long - a inch. Both are 8' 6" wide & 13' 3" tall. I know how my F-350 towed my Teton & needed a Toyhauler that was in the same weight. 3200 Voltage was to small & any of the others with a GVWR of 19k+ are to much for my SRW Ford.

Why should we have to redo anything on a brand new voltage! Why are we letting Dutchmen get away with building crappy campers!

Folks, thanks for all the replies. I've been able to confirm through Dutchmen that the overall total length is measured from the front of the cap to the rear of the trailer. That length is 41 ft 3 in. The hitch does not extend past the front cap. The length of the RV is important to us because we have an existing garage built to house our RV that can accommodate a 42 ft maximum length. We remain optimistic about our Voltage 3600 choice and anticipate delivery in mid/late September. We also realize every new unit requires a degree of TLC unfortunately. Thanks again for your help.
