I just bought a 3815 and while going through it I found some wires connected to two 9v batteries in the front compartment above the battery cut off switch. any idea what they are for
Are they actually batteries or possibly a capacitor of some sort? I have yet to see a 9 volt battery used on an RV for anything outside of the smoke/CO detectors. And those have all had the batteries installed internally. But with Dutchmen... who knows.

Yes they are 9 V batteries and I also looked in a brand-new 3605 last night and it also had the same thing located in the black plastic enclosure as seen in the picture
They look like a battery back up for hard wired CO and Propane detector IMO.

In my 3200, those batteries are backup power to the electronic key switch that unlocks the rear ramp door

On my 4150 it's the same as stated they are redundant power for the rear ramp key switch electric locks. Also there is a third method in the upper frame of the rear ramp there are rubber plugs that you can remove and with your finger unlock each side manually. My key switch failed and both electric options wouldn't work so having a manual option actually was necessary.

Thanks. Good information to have.
