3950 Weights

So I finally got my TH across the scale, wow, she is heavy! We live in ours for the time being so no toys (not that I have the weight allowance right now). There are merits to having the right job for the job....I have seen a 3/4 ton pull these before....scary. I also netted only 8.3mpg so far, from the dash, which has been pretty close since I have owned her....

The combo is a 2015 F350 DRW CC and the TH is a 2014 Voltage 3950. We were loaded for a two week trip, transfer tank had 100 gallons of fuels and another 200lbs of firewood...this was also with everyone in the vehicle (which was nice of the weigh station).

Steer axle: 5180
Drive axle: 8660
Trailer axles: 15600
Total: 29480

Empty
Steer axle: 5180
Drive axle: 4820

The trailer
Pin weight: 3840
Trailer axles: 15600
Total: 19440

Just enough room for a scooter....

Cale

Yeah, I have used every bit of the 14k GVWR I have allotted to me...I still have 1k on the rear and 700 on the front, so a nice margin of safety the way she is loaded... I normally don't carry firewood, but hooked up some folks we are traveling with, they have a lot less truck and a heavy trailer...

Agreed CJohnson, numerous times have seen the same trailer pulled with F-250 with air bags. They always say it pulls great!

Cale, did you disconnect your TV from the 5er to get your rear axle weight on the TV? If so, did you do it at the truck stop?

I jumped on the CAT scales when I took my 5er down South around Thanksgiving of this year.

When I fly back down to Florida I'll take my TV to the CAT scales in the area. I'll weigh the TV so I can get my rear axle weight thus giving me true tongue weight of the 5er.

When you think about, The 250 versus 350, the brakes, engine, trans, axles, etc are the same components, but you lose the safety factor without the training wheels (drw). Back in the 80's, the 1 ton's usually had larger brakes, but now, they're the same components.

Yep, unhooked. Had nothing but time. Ran across hooked up, then went to the truck area, dropped it, then went back through. Love how easy a FW can be done vice a bumper pull. I remember spending over an hour doing this with my Outback, just adjusting chains and washers to get the weight where I wanted it.
