3950 Dryer vent

We will be picking up our 3950 next weekend. We will be getting a washer/dryer combo...for you 3950 folks, where did you install your vent? Looking for any pointers.

Thanks,

Cale

We put ours toward the top right of the washer as you are standing in front of the washer. Sorry I can't provide a picture.

Thanks...That is helpful. Did you do it yourself or pay someone else? Was there any wiring encountered when drilling through the side of the trailer?

A pic of the outside would be nice, that would give me a rough estimate of placement. Also, what brand unit do you have? Are you happy with it?

Ahhh...I did see that thread when I first signed up, however, I did not put two and two together...a little more attention to detail on my part...

Thanks,

Cale

Yes, I did install it myself with the help of a friend. There is no wiring in the wall in that area. We had a Splendide WD2100XC. We were very happy with it. We washed and dried clothes every 1-2 days for a year with it before the wreck.

I don't know if you can do this in sunny California... but if you can catch a frosty morning, an outline of the wall studs will form in the condensation pattern on the sides of the trailer and you can mark these so you don't drill into one later.

Sir,

Thanks for the info....two more questions:

1. Did you use a drain pan beneath the unit?

2. Which vent did you use and were you happy with the overall installation of the vent?

The Camping World an hour away has one in stock...I may go pick it up today...

I did use a drain pan.

I ordered my washer/dryer from a RV supply in California. It was the best deal I could find at the time. I can not find the name of it. I ordered the drain pan and vent kit from the same place. Sorry I can not remember the place.

Yes, we were very happy with the installation.

Thanks for the info. I am heading in to pick one up in the morning....as much as I hate spending money at Camping World, they are within $100 of everyone else once shipping is added in...I would imagine they have all I need there for the install...
