3 season rear doors
I like the idea of the 3 season doors on the rear of the new TH. Has anyone had problems with them and has anyone explored the possibility or retro fitting that set up to older models replacing the pull down screen?

The 3 season doors were a must have when we shopped for a new toy hauler and they are very functional to use the garage as a heated / cooled living area with the ramp down. My first toy hauler had a pull down screen and I can only remember using it a few times.
I've read several post that Lippert will not sell these OEM doors aftermarket for a retrofit with attempts to order / install through the dealer unsuccessful and that they can only be purchased from the manufacturer on a new trailer. I've also seen a few post where toy haulers had been modified with residential storm doors and side panels that look as good or better than the OEM doors.

We love them, 90 degree day with all 3 a/c's running and you couldn't tell that they were 3-season doors. I was wondering how they do in a storm with the rear put away? If they keep enough rain out... our twin boys sleep back there.

Mine are pretty waterproof, although if it's a ton of rain, I like to close my deck as I worry about delamination. My wife also made some curtains that pull back, as despite being tinted, with back lighting you can still see thru them. Just a bit more privacy.

The curtains sound like the next project... We noticed that problem walking back to the TH...

Also considering 3 season patio doors. When looking for our 2014 3950 Voltage, Husband thought it would be too much trouble for moving HD in and out of the garage. I have always liked them. Was recently parked to someone who had them. They always had the ramp patio down and always sitting out on it.
We also never use the ramp cause too much trouble to close it up all the time.
Called Trailer Hitch where we purchased the Trailer. They can get the door for our model from dutchmen. Approx. $2,500. installed.
If anyone knows a better or cheaper way to go, please advise.

You can get them from Trekwood Rv and install them yourself and save a little. There are some very good instructions on the Toyhauler Fans Facebook page.

Three-season doors
We have them in our 2015 3970 and, while a decent idea, found the installation lacking. On our doors, the screens are held in place with velcro and the plastic partitions are held onto the screens with more velcro. They don't stay on well so my wife removed the plastic sections, peeled back the screen velcro and glued that velcro onto the door with Gorilla Glue. They work very well now, excepting the lack of privacy at night.

My wife hung a drapery rod and strung some curtains across the back. Addressed the privacy issue at night.

No, the 3-Season setup is In Place Of the pull down screen. With both units installed, I believe it would be in the way of the rear bunks.
