Waste Gate Cable Troubles

Another issue with waste gate cables. This is my 2nd Dutchmen I've owned and 2nd set of problems with waste gates. The black waste gate has leakage when closed and I have bought a twist on manual waste gate that is attached to the end of my sewer pipe. I am getting ready to head out on a 6 month journey and my question is, can I just leave the black waste gate cable open all the time and just use the manual twist on gate that I installed? Not sure of the draw backs of doing this. Any comments or suggestions are welcomed. By the way my 1st Dutchmen was a 2014 Voltage and now my 2nd Dutchmen is a 2014 Infinity 3610 rl.

Most of us have had trouble with the cables, broken, or not closing.....so most or all of us have used the twist on waste gates....I have had mind on for almost 2 years, some have changed theirs to the Electric waste gates.....I am going to change mind, when I get the time, but your question was....Yes I think you will be alright....

Thanks for the quick reply RVNevada. I will give this a try and possibly look into the electric valves in the future.

You will be okay, just don't forget that it is your ONLY waste gate! Electric is the way to go.

Thank you WahoonC, I appreciate the affirmation of our other friend. Do you happen to have the name of the electric valve?

Barker or Valterra are the best bets. My personal favorites are the Barker, but there is nothing wrong with the Valterra.
