slide out awnings

I just bought a Denali 293rks with 3 slides. We've never owned a RV with slides. Should I get slide out awnings? what are the pros and cons of having slide out awnings

They won't fit on this model due to the patio awning.

We just purchased a new 293RKS and were told, by the Dutchmen rep, not to get slide out awnings because they work against the slide out mechanism and sometimes will prevent sealing. Also, they said the galley slide, the auto leveling setup, will not do well with a slide out awning.

"because they work against the slide out mechanism" This surprises me, seeing how effortless they are to extend. Now I'm curious...

Sounds like a if we say this and them there are problems with the slides we can deny the warranty claim.

Never heard of anyone having a slide problem because of toppers.
