Show drains really slow (brand new rig)

I have not taken it out yet. Doing some checking of anything I can think of while in the back yard so I wouldn't have any surprises my first time out.
I ran water through all of the faucets to check for leaks in plumbing and drains. When it came time to check the shower, I removed the inspection plate in the basement to see if there were any leaks at the "P" trap. While the water was running in the shower, I was in the basement and heard this god-awful gurrrgerling sound going down the drain. Like it was really suffering to get the water through. Sounded like it didn't have sufficient air ventilation. Back in the bathroom I find about 6 inches of water in the bottom of the tub. It took about 5 minutes to finally drain.
Again, this is brand new, no hair balls to be concerned with.

Someone tried to explain that there may be an inverted valve in the drain. I don't understand.
Anyone have any experience with my problem?

Thanks

The shower and bathroom sink go into the same holding tank. Under the bathroom sink, usually, is a horizontal pipe coming off the sink drain with an up-turn. The valve is screwed on to the end that. That is your vent. Take the valve off and shake it. You should be able to hear the valve moving around inside. One other point, are you absolutely sure your holding tank is empty? Mine will gurgle and drain slow if the holding tank is getting full.

Who knows what the factory left in there? I'd try the ol' plumbers plunger on the drain to see if there is something lodged in the drain somewhere. I had a similar issue with a toilet / black tank drain and the plunger fixed the problem .

So that's what the guy was talking about. Very good idea. I will check it out. Yes the tank is completely empty.. all still new. which reminds me, I need to check the black and grey valves. Hope I don't have any surprises there.
Thanks again

Toes,

You'll be surprised what you find and where you find it. Unlike the house builder, Dutchmen doesn't even sweep up the cutout plugs and sawdust, wherever it lands it stays.

I sanitize the fresh water system before I use it, I run a bleach solution through the system. Then clear the waterpump screen and faucet diffuers of the construction debris. I flush the system with fresh water until there is no more clorine smell. Clean the screen and disffusers after each flush.

Half a tank of fresh water, the bleach and go for a drive around town, to stir things up. Same deal to flush the system, usually two times and the clorine smell and taste are gone. I do the same every spring too, you never know what is lurking in the water up pickup along the way.

Jim,
Thanks for reminding me about the water lines. I forgot that on my list of things to do.

Toes,

Your welcome.

Got to look after the water system, after all the Pacific Northwest has some of the best water in the world.

Yeah, like the water from the Tumwater in WA that was used to make Olympic beer many years ago.
