I hate those mices to pieces!
Living on the edge of Regina surrounded by wheat fields you know once the cold weather hits the mice are moving indoors. I spread bay leaves, dryer sheets, strong hand soap like Irish Spring around inside my trailer and garage and back that up with some good old spring traps baited with peanut butter. Gets them every time. I've parked a trailer here for over thirty years and have never had a mouse. From what I've read is that you have to cover the smell of their urine and feces to keep them away. Can't help you with the bugs as our Canadian winters handles them here.
