Question about water heater in a 1993 Dutchman Classic

Hello all! I am a newbie here and have bunches of questions. We purchased a 1993 Dutchman Classic that is in really great shape. We have done some minor repairs but when we got to the hot water heater we had no idea what to do. My question is does this Atwood have both gas and electric or just gas? We did light the pilot and had hot water by using the lp, but now we can't get it to work again. We would love to have the electric option.
Thanks for any help!
Allyson

Shoot us a photo of the heater and we'll have an idea.

From the outside? I can access it also from a door under the oven.

Yep, sorry, from the outside and then maybe a shot of the control center/panel where all the switches are.

Or find the plate with the model & serial number, and look it up on the Atwood website...

Model number

GCH6-7E 6.2 gallon
I am not sure about the first letter. It is either a C or a G.

Here is a link to the manual, it covers multiple units so make sure you double check the stuff for your specific model.

Looks like you have an electric/LP version. If it won't relight, check the burner tube for obstructions like spiders and mud daubers. There is a possibility that the element is bad. If you can get us a picture of the outside of the water heater with the door open it may help.

One photo from inside. There is a on\off switch on top of the silver box.

It looks like the bottom valve for the winter bypass system is partly shut which might keep the cold water from entering the tank. Is water flowing when you open a hot water faucet?

Yes there was hot water when he first tried it. The husband may have moved the valve I will ask.
Thank for the help!
