Unhappy Front end way to high when connected to my tow vehical

I have a 25' 5th wheel Dutchman light, truck is 2007 Silverado 2500 hd. problem is the front end is sticking way to high and back end only has about 6" to 7" of clearance, trailer is impossible to back up. had a local RV repair shop look at it and told me, the fix is to take the rear axle off the top of the spring and put it under the spring to jack up and level the coach and put more weight on the front tires. the 5th wheel hitch is already lowerd and the king pin is as high as it can go. is this way to go? or is there a better solution.

Sounds to me your on the right track. But I am going to ask ya this. How hi is the trailer now? Then adding 7" to that. I am sure it is, but make sure it's a safe height. Also. Do some measurement and make sure that will get you what you need. If not, may need to add block to raise it more. I only bring that up because doing it right the first time will save ya some bucks.

Sounds like you're going to have to flip the axles.

My son bought a used 5th wheel & has the same problem. His 4x4 truck is too tall for the trailer and will be raising the trailer by moving the axles.
Here is the best place to get the correct set-up. they have different kits depending upon what axle you have.

There is a lot to do when flipping axles. You need to consider reenforcment. It will not be cheap, and if it is, it is because it was not done properly. I have a 2008 FR Sandstorm that I flipped the axles on. If you need more advice on this let me know.

There is also a product called Correct Track that I had to put onto my camper to help level mine out, it gave me 2" of lift and I did it in my driveway. How much room is there between the bed and the bottom of camper? I only have 5 1/2" and have never hit.

Since my trailer is a bit nose high I looked up that Correct Track. All I see is that it is for aligning the trailer wheels. I see nothing about it affecting the height of the trailer. Can you perhaps explain in a little more detail, since you have it, over what the website is explaining? Thanks.

Sure, its a little hard to explain but it is basically a "u" channel that fits inside the spring mounts and sticks down below the factory mount. You drill a 9/16' hole in the factory mount to bolt it together and keep it from moving. The spring will now bolt into the lower hole that is in the new bracket with the alignment tabs. If that doesn't make sense let me know and I will try to take a picture of mine to show you. Hopefully with what I said and the website it will.

Did you install the Correct Trak yourself? I was looking at it, but not sure I want the trailer 2 inches higher (which is stated on the web site).

Yes I installed it in my driveway in about 2 nights. The hardest part was drilling the holes, plumbing was in the way in 2 if the holes. I am a mechanic by trade and do modifications for a living so I do have air tools to help but it could easily be done without them. I didn't want mine 2" higher either but it was that or shorten the life of the fridge, since I run it on propane going down the road, plus it just looks better not dropped in the back.
