Battery for 98 Dutchmen

So I just bought a 98 Dutchmen Trailer It for sure is a fixer upper but when I bought it I noticed the battery was laying in the grass beside it. Wondering if someone could tell me what the battery is used for in this trailer?

12 volt lighting, water pump and whatever else needs 12 volts.

Everything 12V, lights, furnace, fridge, fans, etc.

Your campers 12V system allows you to live off grid.

Try this link, you will be able to find whatever manuals Dutchmen has archived for your model. Most of it is very generic, if you need manuals for appliances, etc you can find those at the appliance manufacturers web sites.

12V battery also engages the trailer brakes if the emergency breakaway switch is pulled out.

Some very valuable reading on the 12V system in a camper.
