5th wheel > Security / locks

What do you all use to lock the king pin, or the 5th wheel for security against theft?

In the last 25+ years of Rving we have had five different pull behinds & seven 5th wheels. One or those trailer was a horse trailer. Two of the 5th wheels were for horses also one also had living quarter in it. I live in California. Have RVed as far north as Washington, east as far as North Dakota and as far south as Arkansas. Only thing I use is FAITH. Never had any problem. I figure someone would rather want my truck over my 5th wheel even though the 5th wheel is worth more. I do lock my truck.

I use this:

Amazon.com: RoadPro RPKPSL-2 Heavy Duty Steel King Pin Lock: Automotive

Just don't lose the key because it would be tough to get off.

Locks are only meant to keep honest people from stealing and slow down the thieves.

Fifty years of motorcycling I have seen more bikes stolen, that were locked up with everything from supposedly bullet proof locks to cobra chains. None of them can resist a liquid nitrogen bath.

I tow a TT with a Hensley hitch, that's about as secure as you can get, until till a crook comes along with a Hensley draw bar. Or they go through the trouble of breaking the lock and dismantling the Hensley.

We use a pad lock on the tongue and a yellow ball that goes into the tongue. It may only slow down a thief but I can truthfully say to the insurance company that it was locked.

Having had a vehicle stolen from my front car port at 8:30am in broad daylight, and a break in at 4-4:30pm on a different day (alarm deterred thiefs), I ordered a lock for king pin, just as a deterrent.

Thanks soonernation for the link. Lock should arrive today.

I keep mine in outdoor storage so the lock provide some piece of mind that someone isn't going to hook it up and drive off.

My friend usually puts his lock on when he is unhooked at the campground. The one time he didn't, someone took his king pin lube plate. Probably some kids wanted to use it as a frisbee.
