Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion

Hi - I have a 2015 Coleman 16FB and considering doing the Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion to it. I would like the extra height to help from scraping going in and out of the driveway, and also to get the trailer tongue up a little higher so to line it up with high that I don't need to use such a large drop on the WDH.

Has anyone done this -- and what are the CON's to doing this?

Thanks in advance.

I have a Coleman 250TQ, I know the axle is already under my springs. So if yours is similar, and it should be, the axle is already where you want it.

Your other option is to extend the spring mounts downward, or add a leaf or two.

Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion

I had my 2016 Coleman done by Camping World. Just make sure the axel is aligned properly (which the made sure off). Otherwise, I would say it is a good thing to do. The reason I say this is because of having one of my stabilizer jacks torn off on a trip because of the trailer being to low. The trailer still pulls good afterward.
Would be nice if Dutchman would figure on things like that.

I did it with my single axle. Axle Inc. Move up to next size 3500#. HD them do all the work. Weld axle mounts and spring alignment and mounting, etc.. Just jacked up the trailer slid the new setup in, 4 bolts, Done! I needed a friends business to ship it to. Cost an extra $50-$60. They have a form for measurements on the site so you can order perfect. I used 3500# axle with 2 1500# springs at their advice to cut down the bouncing. Works great they know the formulas.
They really did a good job. All in was around $320 for the axle and springs mounted.
20 minute job. No welding

I did mine and I'm very happy with the new clearance.
