Sound Issues

First of all sorry if it was mentioned before I could not find any existing threads.

We just got new 2019 Coleman Lantern 262 BH.

Just yesterday we installed TV mount. We have some cheap 32" ROKU TV and cheap BlueRay player.

There are only RCA (red, white, yellow) cable that is suppose to be hooked up to the radio and the inside/outside speakers.

Sales guy told us none of the campers come HDMI ready (whatever). I was wondering if anyone knows what HDMI 2 RCA I would need to be able to listen to the TV/DVD through the radio

thank you

I'm assuming your new TV only has HDMI connections? If so, google HDMI audio extractors, they will split out just the audio signal and you can connect your stereo RCA jacks to that.

I bought a Roku TV last year and it had the audio out jacks in the back, shrug

TV does have RCA, we conected it, but no sound. Seems like the RCA was for IN not OUT.
Do I need to connect DVD and TV to the "extractor"? So I would need something with multiple HDMI in and 1 RCA OUT?

I fought this battle. Not worth it. Buy a sound bar for 150$. Much better sound and most models will turn volume up and down when using your existing Roku remote. No all in one remote or programming needed. That's how I'm set up and people love my sound system.

I agree with Witt84. The HDMI may or may not work as an audio out. Some do. Some don't. The only thing you can count on is an input HDMI will work with your new player.

If it does work as an audio out, you will have a slight delay in the sound output like some old time home movies. Also, most low end TT sound systems do not have a sound input to route TV sound too.

"There are only RCA (red, white, yellow) cable that is suppose to be hooked up to the radio and the inside/outside speakers."

My Furion has the three RCA cables. They are output from Furion and input to the TV. The Furion will play DVD's that will show on the TV. I don't think TV sound flows the other way into the Furion. Maybe there are more cables or connector behind the unit.

I'm with Witt, WalMart has some good sound bars on sale right now, one of the better investments I made for watching TV (aside from buying a new TV). You can use the fiber out to run it and get some decent sound.

I'm gonna back track on the TV RCA jack statement. The HDMI audio extractor will work with the tv, But i'm not sure how the blueray player fits in. Why aren't you just using the campers DVD player, that would solve all your problems.

Anyways, the sound bar idea sounds better than my idea

I also hate the audio for movies going through my camper speakers, it sounds terrible, the TV speakers are fine for most things. If I need to blast a good movie, I can do it at home with a 65" screen

Camper does not have DVD player. And using TV speakers (well the AC is louder than the TV. And if kids watching from the bunk in the back, then can't hear and 1 of the built in speakers is close to the bunks.

I have found this on Amazon. Not very expensive
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...NQE846HA&psc=1

It's 36.99. # HDMI in and 1 OUT with RCA sound out. I will try it and the will post results

There is no DVD in the camper. And TV speakers are not loud enough. AC runs pretty loud. I figured 1 of the ceiling speakers is close to the bunks in the back and kids can watch from beds too.

Sound bar will be last resort.

Thank you all

Are you sure? It's rare for a camper that new not to have one. I watched a walk-around video on your camper and it showed just a single din radio, but it may have a flip face hiding the DVD/CD player. The Dutchman site says it has a CD/DVD player

If you can post a pic of the radio front, we may be able to find one.
