Roof cleaning

What cleaners and methods of cleaning rubber roofs have you found to work well?
I have been thinking about a mixture of simple green and dawn dish washing soap mixed with hot water doing a pre soak and brushing method.

We use liquid dish soap and a low pressure power washer on commercial roofs.

I use Dawn dish soap and a car extend a brush with soft bristles and it works great.

I just used that exact same thing on my last roof wash, it worked great. Used a medium stiff brush on a threaded broom handle. Didn't have to presoak.

This may come into the stupid question arena but how do I tell what kind of roof I have on my Dutchman 291RESL? And how often should I wash it?

Mine stays under a roof unless i'm camping and I wash it 2-3 times a year. You really should be up there anyways to check your caulk joints for cracks. The more you travel the faster it cracks.

I just cleaned mine with a pressure washer pre-rinse, camco roof cleaner & conditioner, gentle scrubbing with a long-handled medium brush and a post-rinse. Nice and clean now although some stubborn bird poop residue still remains. I suspect Dawn would work well too. Watch out for black streaks on the side of your rig though.
