Question about Dometic digital heat/AC control

Hello all. I have a 2017 Aspen Trail 2750bhs. It has a digital display with push button controls for the heat and ac. It displays the temperature that the ac is set to. Is there a way for it to show the actual room temperature?

Yes, the only way to see the temperature is to set the t-stat to off. Then the ambient temperature is shown... stupid right?

And from my observations not wildly accurate either. We have a digital stick up that is on the wall in the same general area, typically we have to run the thermostat a couple of degrees higher or lower than normal house setting to get the comfort level we are used to.

My display is blank when it's off. How do I get it to show the room temp when it's off? I may have to buy a digital thermometer and mount it near the thermostat control so I know what the temp is. On another note this single AC doesn't appear to be adequate in cooling the entire camper. It's new and I've only used it twice and only for a weekend at a time. Next week will be the true test. Headed to the beach for a week. Leaving Friday. Can't wait. I did buy a 36" oscillating tower fan to help move the air around.

With it off press the + or - button.. like Arron said, it's not real accurate.

When it is off you push the + or - button and it will show what it thinks is room temp.

Ok thanks guys. I guess I'm going to get a digital thermometer to put next to the thermostat. Odd that the digital display wouldn't show the temp while it's running.

Dometic has a newer thermostat now that displays the room temp and has a blue backlight. It is supposed to be compatable with our units (Brisk air II Single Zone). Adventure rv has them for around $28.
