Newbie To RV'ing First Venture in 1994 30ft TT

Hey everyone. As you'll be able to tell, this is my first post in a very long time. I live in a Dutchmen 30ft travel Trailer, a Classic 30FK. I want to take a very short trip to The Kings Mtn. State Park in SC. First they have a length limit of 30 ft. The document that came with the used TT, it states overall length is 31'4"!! Is it too long??? Next, do you fill the fresh water prior to leaving or fill it at the Campground? I only want to stay a long weekend and it's only 15 - 20 miles, in case 'something' goes wrong. I have a shore power RV outlet and water, as needed. I've never used the Black Water tanks. Shower and etc, at neighbors house. So..... I'm unsure about this first trip. I've lived in it for 1-1/2 years, good so far. I'm putting in new LED's from M4 Products, ( tnx RVGeeks.com! ) Thanks for any suggestions or help. I don't come here often, so my email address is, (ka4wyc@gmail.com) Jeff

Hi Jeff,
You will probably fit just fine, typically they measure the gravel pad to come up with that 30' measurement. Unless the site is heavily wooded you usually have a bit of fudge room by hanging over the back a bit.

Water is heavy, we usually put a few gallons in the tank when we travel just for quick potty stops and being able to wash our hands. Then fill the tank up when we get where we are going. If you have water on the site you don't need to fill the tank, just hook up the hose and you will have water pressure.

Good luck with your trip!

Aaron
