I thought it would be more of a winter problem, but I found a dead mouse in my (empty) garbage can today, complete with maggots. Luckily the camper was only closed up for 2 weeks or it couldve been worse. Still stunk a bit though, kind of like dry dog food.
That said, a few questions. My garbage is in a cabinet under my sink and was closed the whole time, as well as the drawers on the other side of it, so it appears that saved me from damage. I get the feeling he went straight in the can and couldnt get out due to the lack of damage and droppings. My underbelly is enclosed, so im guessing he got in through a slit by my fresh tank drain and followed it up through the pipes next to the HWT as pictured below, now stuffed with steel wool and covered in duct tape. My questions are should I worry about damage to my enclosed water lines, and is it possible for a mouse to get in through the furnace vent?
Also pictured is the cabinet where the can is, the mouse and my furnace area. Trailer is a 2015 Coleman 244BH.
