Kitchen exhaust fan

My hood fan quit working tonight, but the light still works. Is it a safe bet to just change out the motor for $9 on Amazon or do I maybe have a fuse or wire loose? It was working this morning so I dont know what happened. We use it for white noise at night so im just assuming it died.

It's hard to say whether or not it just died without testing for power. It certainly is possible or it could be the switch. Don't overlook that.
