I Don't Like the Massage....

We just took our Kodiak out for the first run this week and got all our "stuff" in place. We've downsized from a 31' to a 24', so we've had to discard a little....

The trailer pulls incrediblly well. This was the reason for the downsize, so I'm happy there.

I'm still concerned about the A/C noise and vibration. I'll live with the noise if need be, but it shakes the trailer like an old massage bed! I'm wondering if something is loose somewhere. We were only using the fan to circulate the air; the compressor wasn't running.

Any thoughts?

Probably the fan is loose on the shaft, has bent blade(s) or the motor shaft may be bent and out of balance.
Other than air movement noise the fan should be smooth and quiet.
It should be relatively easy to open the A/C and watch the fan rotate to see which condition is causing the 25 cent massage bed shake.

You have a problem with something??? The AC on our new Kodiak is a little loud but dose not vibrate the trailer at all really. Back to the dealer / repair shop it goes I say.
Good luck, and have fun with your new trailer!

Mud dauber on A/C blower or fan?
Remove the outer A/C cover and check the blower and fan.

While you have the cover removed, check for a bent A/C motor shaft. Place a pencil point very close to the end of the motor shaft and rotate by hand to check for straightness.

Remove the A/C re-circulation/filter cover from inside to check the A/C to roof mounting screw for looseness. This will also cause vibration.

That all I've got.

The noise I can deal with; the vibration....Nope! We were back out again this week with the same results. I have a punch list for the dealer....

Yeppers. Either of those things would cause what I'm feeling. I think I'm going to let the dealer deal with it .
