Entry Door Keys Stolen

Not a good day yesterday, my trailer keys were stolen out of my pick up, yep both sets now can't get into the entry door (aspen trail). Truck was broken into thru door window.

Any suggestions to breaking into the trailer window or break up the door lock.

or does dealer (bought new) or dutchman have the key code based on vin no.

Chances are 15% of any RV key will fit your trailer. Ask around. Bummer about the truck damage. If you file an insurance claim, they may cover the keys. Just a thought.

Call a locksmith, they will get you in without breaking or damaging anything. IF you have AAA they may help also (no charge). maybe get them to change the lock while they are there. just in case!

If you can gain access to the interior via any of your outdoor storage areas, then ask a neighbor if you can borrow their outdoor storage door key and I bet it will work for yours.

Got a locksmith over to the trailer, He was able to pick both locks in a few minutes. And when I got inside I found my extra keys so now everything is good and will be able to take our trip next week.

The horse is out of the barn but in the future hide a set somewhere on the outside. I have a set I hide well but easy access for the dreaded day I lose my keys.
If you have road assistance with your car insurance they should cover your towed camper also. But what the others have said about a neighbors keys.. most RV's have the same keys..not like automobiles.

Great idea! I keep a spare set hidden in one of the storage compartments. Almost every camper uses the same storage compartment lock. Easy to ask a neighbor to unlock my storage compartment. I also have a spare buried in the glove box of the truck.

All RV dealers have keys for the lock so long as it isn't the dead bolt. For your trailer it will be the M key.

I keep a complete set of all trailer keys (including padlocks) in the truck console. I have a hidden truck key also. If I lose my primary set, I can get in with the truck set. It doesn't make sense to keep spare keys inside the camper.

That is what started all of this, the trailer keys were in the truck ash tray, and the truck was broken into the keys were taken (dumb jerk what is he going to do with the keys, no tags on them). So now I will have the back up set hidden some place else. And a full set in the trailer, with a trailer key in magnetic box someplace.
