There wouldn't be a significant difference between 14-15" tires in the ground clearance. You would only gain 1/2" for the wheel and 1/2 of the difference in tire height.
However, I would do it just for the fact that I would have more options to increase the LR of the tire, to what I would consider acceptable. I don't like playing the numbers game to make a tire fit.
If your axles are above the springs, you can gain the diameter of the axle by flipping or mounting the axle under the spring. Doing both would open up even more tire choices.
