Uneven Table top Insert

Hi
Hope someone can give me some advise as to how far I should push this issue with Dutchmen.
I am scheduled to pick up my rig on Saturday. The table insert is not level with the perimeter of the wooden part of the table. Ii in indented about 1/4 " causing plates to wobble when placed there. I asked the dealer to fix it but said they are all like that and cannot be fixed. For those with this set up, are your insert level to the table? Should I pursue this with the factory, or just give it up to " that's the way it is" ?

I tried to insert a picture but it didn't take... ill try again.

Hold out till it is fixed. Do not take delivery until then. Do not exchange any finances until it is fixed. The RV world is full of lazy dealers - make them fix it or walk away from the deal.

Don't buy that 'they all are that way' crap. Get them to make it right BEFORE you sign the papers or as mentioned previously, walk away.

Once your name is on the line you are essentially on your own in most cases. If that dealer doesn't make you feel warm and fuzzy then find one that does.

Consumer screwing has to come to an end!

If you take delivery before absolutely everything is to your satisfaction, you are setting yourself up for months of frustration chasing after these guys to get stuff fixed.

Very true. Our table was damaged on top (among other items) and was "noted" as needing replaced during the pre-delivery check . It took 9 months of fighting with the dealer and Keystone to finally get it. If this dealer is a Camping World run away as fast as you can. You will have problems getting anything done.

Well I called Dutchmen and was told that this was a "dealer problem" . Wow!
So i called the dealer and again was told that they all look the same with the same defect. He offered me 200.00 compensation and told me to fix it myself.... Again Wow! Luckily i have a good friend that does cabinetry and he will fix it for a six pack and a steak. "life is good today"

There you go, lesson one in RV ownership.

The dealer is really going out of his way to accomodate you, after all he's giving you $200 out of his own pocket. He figures he's going to make it up in parts and service department sales.

Lesson number two, only go back to the dealer for warranty repairs. Most of the stuff used in the construction of an RV can be found in the everyday world, at everyday prices. The only thing the "RV" packaging adds is about 30% to the price.

I am fortunate in that 2 of my local auto parts stores have large RV parts sections and they can order most stuff that they don't keep in stock.

For any work that I can't do, I go to an independent repair shop. His labor rates are lower than the dealer, I know I'll have the same guy working on my camper everytime and he doesn't give me the runaround.
