Even though my 2018 Coleman 1805RB has been washed and waxed regularly and covered in the Winter the front cap has started to fade along the top edge. Buffing and re-waxing lasted about 2 weeks. Does anyone have experience with Poli Glow or other products to hide this defect?

I use a product made in NC called First Place Finish. I wax my 2019 Coleman RD 202 every six months and the color has stayed bright as the day (if not better) it was manufactured. I also use it on my 2018 Ford F150. It is Ruby Red and people think it is a brand new truck

Are you sure that is not wear from the cover? Seems strange that even the sticker is showing color change in the same area.



I have Ceramic Coated my truck, and may do my trailer as well. It's cheap for long lasting protection.

There is enough in this little bottle to do my truck twice, or an entire trailer with leftovers. After that, just a wash and a wipe down with Reload every so often. Waxing these boxes can be such a pain.

I had the exact same camper that was bought new in 2017. Before I traded it the fading was already down to the Coleman decal. I had the paint protection warranty so the dealer I traded it into was going to file a claim and fix it. Other than that we loved the camper.

I've attached a side view and the back shines great as well, you guys can see its been well cared for and I don't believe in was the cover. I appreciate the product suggestions but like "cbmfire" I believe its a quality problem not a maintenance one.

Simetimes the base color can fade out under the clear coat. I had that happen with a 1992 Crown Vic. It started with lighter colored stripes, then eventually had wide light stripes of primer, with thin metallic stripes of Titanium. The clear was perfect though, shined, glossy, repelled water. Not a thing can be done if the base color is prone to UV fade. This may be the case with your trailer.

This is definitely the top coat because it now has a rough texture to it. The decals on the front are fine but the gelcoat deterioration is quickly progressing toward the Coleman decal and I have no way to stop it. It really bothers me because it looks like I don't maintain it and nothing could be further from the truth. As the picture from the side shows. I've lost count of how many times its been washed and waxed. If come up with a solution I'll definitely post it.

I take it, no longer under warranty too. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer direct? You can also send a letter(email) to Trailer Life to see if they can assist.

You are correct, no warranty. I thought about calling Dutchman but not writing Trailer Life. It would be interesting to see if they respond since we bought it new at Camping World in 2017.

My semi-permanent solution. Got some vinyl decal material from a custom car shop and covered it. Had to cut farther from the lights and corner trim than I wanted but couldn't get the silicone residue off enough for it to stick. May try something else later but at least it doesn't have a sunburn anymore.

That is actually a good idea. There are companies that can do a custom printed wrap if you wanted to have something different. In fact, I have had the thought to have the back panel wrapped with an image of a hole in the road and a hand tossing $100 bills into it.

Thanks! I thought about a wrap too. Maybe a lighthouse scene for us if the sunburn sneaks out again.
Funny thing about the silicone...I had a rear marker light that was barely sealed when I first got it. Called customer service to see what brand of silicone they used. The nice lady told me it was silicone but if I used silicone it would void my warranty. I was like wait....what....huh? [emoji16]

You didn't know they void the warranty before you buy it? Saves them tons of money on repairs.

Amen brother! Thank goodness Dometic and Lippert honor theirs. I mean, they wouldn't warranty a $3 lug bolt that they crossthreaded.
